New Zealand Post expects to complete its evaluation of possible People’s Bank IT systems in about two months, says implementation project leader Alan Dempster.
An RFP (request for proposal) earlier this year brought in “a large number” of responses, he says, declining to be more definite. “Now we are in the process of evaluating those proposals. In the next two months, we should have completed the evaluation, contracted the project and have it under way.”
The bank, which is the pet project of Deputy Prime Minister Jim Anderton, “has been clearly signalled, be a retail bank, dealing with the public”, says Dempster, “so we are looking at retail banking systems.” But within that general class NZ Post is favouring no particular type of solution at present, he says.
