Agricultural portal Fencepost.com has joined the online job recruitment trade with a rural jobs section.
It includes a job alert that allows users to register their requirements on the Fencepost site and receive an email when a job matches.
Chief operating officer Alison Andrew claims the site already receives 150,000 visitors a month.
Andrew says urban people have successfully found work through the web, but this is the first job site aimed at rural New Zealanders. She says it will help ease the shortage of farm workers and skills in the industry.
Rural Jobs is designed with support from the Agricultural Training Organisation (Ag ITO), educational institutions and farming groups, and adds to other recent features at fencepost.com.
