In a deal worth “six figures”, Southland ISP SouthNet and Invercargill investment company InvestSouth have undertaken to provide a wireless high-speed broadband service to Invercargill, rural Southland and the Queenstown-Arrowtown area.

Under SouthNet’s “district-wide aggregation plan”, the ISP will act as the focal point to package bandwidth for Southland businesses, schools, local councils and other organisations requiring it, SouthNet managing director Marc Cohen says.

“We aim to obtain better wholesale pricing, which in turn should make the service more affordable for Southlanders.”
