The Ministry of Justice has appointed a new information chief.
Sandi Beattie joins the ministry from IT company Synergy International, where she led the management consultancy division.
Before Synergy Beattie was a director with consultants KPMG and has management experience in central and local government.
In her new role, Beattie will head a $1 million data warehouse project. It will be developed over the next 12 months to create, maintain and update justice sector data and information for statistical analysis.
Beattie’s other roles include ongoing maintenance and implementation of the Justice Sector Information Strategy, responsibility for the ministry’s IT and information initiatives and operations and integration with e-government initiatives.
Starting work yesterday, she replaces Dean Martin, who left the ministry for another government department.
