A service will be held in Auckland on Friday for Chris Thodey, a senior Microsoft executive who died this week.
Fifty-two-year-old Thodey, who had been in the computer industry for 25 years, was in charge of Microsoft’s enterprise business. He was also a former IBM employee.
Former colleagues, Microsoft executives and customers have been paying tribute to Thodey, who was well-liked and respected.
"Many people within our company as well as our industry have benefitted from his guidance, wisdom and personal warmth,” said Microsoft New Zealand head Geoff Lawrie in a statement.
Microsoft has opened condolence books in its Auckland and Wellington offices and is accepting sympathy messages at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Friday's service will be held at Pinot, 231 Orakei Road, Remuera at 3pm.
