Off-site council employees in Scotland's largest city may soon be tracked by head office using New Zealand-developed software.
The Glasgow City Council is trialling Tauranga-based Panztel's eziTracker employee remote monitoring application. If it chooses to take up the service, Glasgow will join other organisations in Europe, Australia and New Zealand in using eziTracker including British telco Energis.
Last year the company opened an office in Wales as a base for its European operations.
Panztel recently received a $74,000 grant from the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology, which managing director Jonathan Hudson says has allowed the company's research and development team to add further refinements to the technology behind eziTracker.
