The Wireless Data Forum is in dispute over the role of Luigi Cappel, who says he has been appointed its part-time temporary general manager until he finds another job.
Following a story on Computerworld's website last week (Wireless communications ready to fly), forum vice-president Tony Fitzgerald says Capell is not its general manager and has "simply taken over some of the duties of the previous general manager on a temporary contract basis".
Fitzgerald, sales director of Auckland-based reseller Portables Plus, says other forum members "are ropable" over Cappel's assuming of the title.
Cappel is perplexed. "I give up ... at the last committee meeting, I was appointed general manager."
