The Commerce Commission has bowed to pressure from Telecom and Vodafone to extend the deadline for submissions on the telecommunication service obligation (TSO) implementation issue paper.
The new deadline is June 10.
The commission had released two discussion papers on the TSO as part of its move toward setting industry-wide standards, a ruling that is due in March 2003.
The deadline extension means a planned industry conference on the matter will also be delayed until July 8.
As reported on IDGNet last week, both Telecom and Vodafone claimed they would not be able to prepare submissions in time for the original deadline.
The TSO replaces the existing kiwi share obligation (KSO) as part of the new Telecommunications Act.
