It's a close race in the science category of the Webby's as SciTech Daily struggles to overtake the mighty NASA for top dog spot.
Although the instant polling has been taken down from the Webby's site, Vicki Hyde, managing director of SciTech Daily, says it is only 10% behind the NASA earth watch website.
"A last minute push might just do it," says Hyde, who is off to the US for some well earned R&R following the awards push.
SciTech Daily, run out of Christchurch, generally manages 50,000 page visits per month so Hyde was quite surprised to find the site polling so well against the NASA site, which averages 30,000 visits a day.
Hyde has made much of the fact that because of time differences, New Zealand voters will have extra time to vote - voting closes at 7pm Saturday New Zealand time.
