PricewaterhouseCoopers will not comment further on the dismissal of its IT division general manager and network manager over what partner Stewart Bauld calls “improper behaviour”.
The consulting giant is carrying out an internal investigation. Asked if a complaint to the police was on the cards, Bauld said, “I have nothing to add at this stage.”
Bauld told Computerworld sister publication Reseller News late last month that PwC dismissed the pair over alleged expense claim irregularities.
Reseller News reported that there was speculation the dismissals related to the awarding of the contract for networking gear in PwC’s new Auckland harbourside premises, with partner Cisco missing out. Switch provider Foundry won the business, and the network was implemented by Interconnect
As to whether the dismissal of the two PwC IT executives is related to network contract issues, Bauld says, “If there is a problem with Cisco, Cisco would have brought it to us. If there was an issue, they haven’t raised it with me.”
