More HP jobs go to ex-Compaq staff

Ex-Compaq staffers are filling more top jobs at the merged Hewlett-Packard but details on redundancies are still sketchy.

Ex-Compaq staffers are filling more top jobs at the merged Hewlett-Packard but details on redundancies are still sketchy.

Ken Erskine, who takes the role of marketing and communications director, completes Russell Hewitt’s executive team.

Earlier this month, Compaq staffers Bridget O’Shannessey took human resources, Bruce McEwan gained finance and administration and Robin Paterson took IT and operations. Former HP country manager Barry Hastings heads the imaging and personal systems groups, and Simon Tong, services.

Hewitt declines to comment on local job losses, saying “the market is picking up” and the final shape of the company is still being worked on.

Hewitt says a further level of management should be appointed by the end of this week.
