New chief at Computerland

Computerland' new general manager is Chris Mackay, previously of Computerland Auckland.

Computerland's new general manager Chris Mackay aims to make the company one of the top e-business firms in the country.

MacKay says “with the challenges and distractions of Y2K behind us, companies will be looking hard at how they can leverage their current technology investments and ensure they have sound strategies for competing in the world of e-business".

He has been general manager of Computerland Auckland for the past five years before being appointed this month as CEO. He replaces Russell Hewitt, who left the company late last year to become managing director of Compaq New Zealand.
