This week's launch of the new Stuff website hasn't quite gone according to plan, with users experiencing delays and difficulties accessing parts of the site. Problems began at about 6.30am on Monday and were still occuring on Tuesday afternoon.
General manager of the news website Fiona Reid said yesterday that the problem was caused by an excessive load on one server.
"We're redistributing that load," she told IDGNet yesterday afternoon.
She described Stuff's situation as "normal teething problems," and said things were due to be fully up and running by about 5pm yesterday.
A notice on the site yesterday said "the new look stuff site, launched today, is experiencing technical problems. We apologise to our readers and hope to have the site up and running as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience."
Internet commentator Bruce Simpson said on his Aardvark site today, that he had managed to access various parts of the site that were not meant to be publicly accessible.
