I am a network and desktop support team leader with three staff reporting to me in a national and international exporting company.

We are responsible for 312 workstations on our LAN/WAN and a further 120 non-networked mobile PCs. We support numerous in-house and commercially developed software packages.

Our network environment involves connectivity to a mainframe and numerous Solaris boxes.

I am a Certified NetWare Engineer and have done all the usual server and support install development. The network versions I have worked with are NetWare Lite, 2.2, 3.x, 4.x and 5.0.

My responsibilities involve annual project implementation and management and I am also a Compaq certified service engineer. I have carried out warranty work on Compaq desktops and notebooks.

My national qualification is a Certificate in Business Computing and I have been in the industry for nine years.
