The first preview from the Lord of the Rings trilogy currently being filmed in New Zealand has been posted on the Internet.
The save-disabled QuickTime preview is, like the Star Wars Episode One trailer of last year, being hosted by Apple Computer as part of its QuickTime showcase, at http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/lord_of_the_rings/ but can also be accessed via the official movie Web site at http://www.lordoftherings.net . It is available in four sizes, ranging up to a 27Mb version.
The clip offers a tantalising glimpse at battle scenes and backstage production, and includes brief comments from director Peter jackson and star Elijah Wood. It concludes by saying that the three episodes of the trilogy are scheduled for release at Christmas 2001, 2002 and 2003 respectively.
