Online shopping is just weeks away for the 3,500 members of Bartercard New Zealand.

Online shopping is just weeks away for the 3,500 members of Bartercard New Zealand.

Its international parent and 131-Shop.com.au have signed an agreement to let Bartercard members trade online for the first time, using 131-Shops existing e-commerce technology.

Globally, 30,000 members of Bartercard will be able to sign up and trade freely between themselves.

131-Shop chairman Gary Punch says this is the first e-commerce portal opportunity his company has negotiated and others will follow.

“The deal provides a significant revenue boost to 131-Shop and we believe it is the start of a strong alliance between 131-Shop and Bartercard International,” he says.

Bartercard International Executive Chairman Wayne Sharpe says online shopping has been part of his company’s long-term strategy and the link forms a foundation for Bartercard’s business-to-business (B2B) portal development.

The online Shopping Mall will be launched on Web sites www.bartercard.co.nz.
