The explosion in online commerce, and the systems behind it, is the focus of IT research company IDC’s Directions 2000 conference in May.
IDC analysts from Australia and New Zealand will gather in Wellington and Auckland to outline the market opportunities and projected growth of e-business in New Zealand. “The conference will focus on how e-businesses will change the way we do business in New Zealand, change the IT industry, and the impact of eBusiness on consumer spending,” says IDC New Zealand country manager Dinesh Kumar. Six speakers will look at matters such as user demands, buying intentions, vendor strategies, the US experience, server and PC market figures, local e-market leaders and the burgeoning Internet economy. Directions will take place in the Park Royal Hotel on May 22, Wellington and the Carlton Hotel, Auckland, on May 23.
