Wellington-based ISP Actrix has bought a 50% stake in Kapiti Internet Services and will take over the running of the ISP side of its business.
Kapiti Internet will continue offering Web hosting and development work.
“We’ve gone into a joint venture together,” says Actrix marketing manager Steve Ritchie.
“The rationale is that Kapiti is having problems continuing to provide cost-effective connectivity,” says Ritchie.
He says the cost of running a small ISP is “fairly horrendous” and Kapiti will make use of its existing skill base to continue working as a Web development firm.
“It’s a good partnership for both of us,” says Ritchie.
