Indian police have nabbed their first cyber criminal.
Delhi police have charged a computer engineer with stealing more than 100 hours of computer time from an army chief's computer system and changing the password.
The officer's Internet time was found to have been used at 10 different locations and the accused also allegedly sold the password to several people.
India's parliament last month approved an IT bill to regulate the country's booming IT industry.
Hackers can be fined up to $450,000 with up to three years jail and heavy fines and jail terms can also be imposed for publishing obscene material on the Internet.
