Fletcher Challenge has denied that it's massive outsourcing deal with Unisys has been canned. Unisys has also responded saying it's "business as usual".
Last week Computerworld reported the company had decided to bring its future development in-house. The principal of a major contracting company was quoted saying he'd been approached to find contracting staff.
Fletcher Challenge spokesperson Clive Litt says the deal, between Fletcher Challenge building division and Unisys, is in the first phase of scoping out the requirements and this investigation will come to a conclusion in "about a month".
"Suggestions that we have quit the deal or that we are bringing the work in-house are not correct," says Litt, "There are no contractors or staff being hired."
Litt also describes the $100 million-plus price mentioned in relation to the deal as speculative, saying the value of the deal won't be known until after the requirements have been defined.
