The school computer "geek" has transformed his image thanks to growing use of IT in schools.
A British survey reveals that computer-mad pupils are no longer seen as boring by their peers, but are now "friendly and fun”.
The NOP Poll says UK kids know more about the Internet than their "technically challenged" parents.
And the family expert who knows it all is typically a boy aged 14-16.
"Once thought of as a geek by his peers, he is now the really cool kid in class and will teach parents, siblings and teachers," says an NOP spokeswoman.
But the survey also reports a downside to extensive Internet knowledge - these boys know how to access pornography.
