Logitech, maker of mice and “force feedback” joysticks — for serious gamers — has launched a water-resistant case for Palm PDA users.
Nothing new there, you say, I have a case for mine thanks and don’t need another one.
The beauty of the KeyCase, however, is that it doubles as a keyboard. It’s built of a “sturdy electronic fabric”, ElekTex, that makes for a lightweight solution, albeit one with touch-sensitive buttons.
It’s kind of cool really. ElekTex senses where you’re touching it and how hard. Your taps get converted to electrical pulses that are sent to the PDA. It even has a scrolling wheel made of the stuff.
The beast costs $309.95, which makes it the most expensive PDA keyboard around, so don’t expect to see these popping up everywhere.
No word on how thick the material is, or how heavy, or whether you can get one for your Pocket PC devices.
