A brief "degradation of service" at TelstraClear yesterday afternoon caused two Auckland-based ISPs and their customers some problems.
The problem came after two other network outages at TelstraClear at the end of last month saw customers unable to connect for several hours at a time.
TelstraClear spokesman Ralph Little says the problem lasted less than an hour.
"We identified there was a problem in a port and we had to find that, isolate it and close it down. Some customers would have noticed a degradation of service."
Both ICONZ and Ihug reported connection issues and Ihug was forced to switch to its backup bandwidth provider, Sprint, according to managing director Martin Wylie.
