ICONZ has continued its charge into the business ISP market with its newest application, an online usage manager for business customers.
Aimed at any business from small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) up to full-blown ISP resellers, ISP Bandwidth Manager allows system administrators to manage their own bandwidth requirements or IP addresses should they need to, according to ICONZ general manager Sean Weekes.
"It will allow the customer to see their pipe usage - say with a pipe size of 1MBit/s, they can see their subnets and determine who gets what usage."
Weekes says customers will be able to give priority to certain subnets (subnetworks) should they want to.
"For argument's sake, say if the managers are all on the same subnet they can have priority one for access while these others may have priority five. They could also assign more bandwidth overnight for back-up purposes for example."
Weekes says the customers will be able to better manage their own traffic needs with the product.
"They can see if they are congesting the pipe themselves."
At the higher level, ISPs that buy the product will have access to more tools that will allow them to manage IP addresses as well.
"It's an IP management tool. We give them a pool of IPs and when their customers dial on we serve those IPs to those customers. They will have clear visibility as to which IPs have been allocated and who to."
Weekes says ISPs that have purchased ports from an upstream provider will also be able to track their usage.
"They'll be able to see who's logged on, what time they've logged on, what data usage there's been, down to specific customer component."
Weekes says individual users haven't been forgotten either.
"This product scales down as far as the individual so in February we'll be hopefully launching a version for the end user."
Pricing ranges from $500 to $1500 a month for the versions ranging from SME up to ISP level.
