I am a systems assistant for a large Dunedin-based law firm. My job involves supporting 120 support staff and solicitors across the South Island. I have been there two years since completing varsity.
I provide frontline and backroom support for 120 win95/98/2k/XP machines and 10 servers in three locations around the South Island connected via Frame Relay WAN, 15 servers, 25 printers.
The title belies the role; I work on the most basic to the most technical aspects of the firm. This includes:Office Apps, Exchange 5.5, NT 4 DomainServer, Proxy Server, ISA Firewall Server, VPN, Exchange via WebMail, SQL Server running Infinity Law, Terminal Server, Faxware Server.
My qualifications are Bachelor of Commerce - Marketing, Bachelor of Science - Information Science and CNA - Certified Novel Administrator. My experience includes OS's: MS-DOS, Win9x, Win2k Pro, XP; Server OS's: NT 4.0 Server, Terminal Server, SQL Server, Exchange 5.5, Win2k Server/Proxy andWin2k Server/ISA.
