Sales executive and major shareholder John Hanna has left SolNet as the company changes from being a sole agent for Sun hardware to becoming a reseller.

Sales executive and major shareholder John Hanna (pictured) has left SolNet as the company changes from being a sole agent for Sun hardware to becoming a reseller.

Managing director Mark Botherway wouldn’t comment on Hanna’s departure and Hanna didn’t return calls.

Botherway says the change in relationship with Sun is merely a matter of moving to a standard global Sun contract.

He expects no change as SolNet becomes sole Sun reseller, with a channel development role involving supplying other resellers.

Botherway and fellow directors Peter Weaver and Hanna bought 51% of SolNet from founder Murray McNae in 2001, in equal lots of 17%. McNae retains 49% of the company.
