The never-ceasing churn of IT personnel brings a familiar face to TelstraClear's marketing. Taking up the lead reins later this month is Peter Thompson, an industry veteran of 25 years.

Thompson was perhaps best known in his long stint as chief executive of Data General. Later he was general manager of corporate business with Telecom.

After leaving Telecom he moved into the technical writing business in partnership with Robyn Stephen (see Forget the froth: see the quality)

Thompson is on holiday overseas this week and could not be contacted.

Another new arrival at TelstraClear is Sunil Joshi, who takes up the position of head of business sales. Joshi has held senior positions with IBM in New Zealand, Australia and India, and previously worked for Hewlett-Packard.
