Dear What Am I Worth,

I am a third-level support person working in a LAN/WAN multiple domain environment. I provide team leadership to second level for five others.

I provide technical resource for projects and escalated problems out of tier two. I am responsible for the smooth running of this second level, providing direction and ideas.

Other responsibilities include support of the production environment for the following resources: file management, Internet/intranet access, financial systems, payroll systems, exchange servers and input into the companies IT direction, policies and architecture decisions.

I am MCSE [Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer] qualified and a testing analyst and have been working in IT for five years, starting from a helpdesk analyst, desktop engineer, and finally up-skilling myself to MCSE level. I also have been trained internally to work as a manager. I work for a large retail company.

Up-skilling

Sapphire Technologies replies: Your skills and experience are highly marketable and it is great that you have backed this with obtaining the MCSE qualification. I would estimate your market worth to be in the region of $60,000 to $80,000. Where you fall in this range would depend upon how long you have had management responsibilities.
