Kiwi Borland developers wanting to keep up with the latest developments in Delphi, C++, C# and .Net now have their own user forum.

The first meeting of the Borland Developers Group kicks off tomorrow at Borland’s offices in Queen Street, Auckland, with an introduction to C# Builder presented by Richard Vowles. C# Builder was released earlier this month.

Alice Kennedy, Borland’s northern sales representative, says the company is keen to hold further meetings offsite, including in other towns.

“We’re trying to set up a local forum,” she says, “something more localised so we have got advice about current training and that sort of thing.”

Group members (borland.usergroups.org.nz) will be offered access to beta programs for products such as the forthcoming Delphi for .Net, Kennedy says. Delphi for .Net is due for release by the end of November.

Borland has also established a Java Developers Group (java.usergroup.org.nz). The first meeting on June 26 will feature a presentation on aspect-oriented programming by Murray Knox.

Borland appointed a new country manager, Chris Gray, in May.
