Jobseeker site offers help for travelling Kiwis

Kiwi IT workers seeking greener pastures overseas now have the assistance of a global job Web site.

Kiwi IT workers seeking greener pastures overseas now have the assistance of a global job Web site.

Agenciesdirect.com launched last week, links 1600 international recruitment agencies covering job categories such as IT, accounting, medicine, banking and finance.

More than 30 countries are served across Europe, Asia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. It is initially aimed at job candidates from Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Ireland and South Africa.

Candidates can send their CVs through the site to several recruitment agencies in the countries they want to work in. This can be done in one hit, rather than searching for the contact details of each specific agency. The service also allows the job-seekers to pre-book agency interviews before arriving at their destination.

The Web site is free, paid for by the recruitment agencies appearing on it.

Agenciesdirect.com director Blair Keenan says the Web site will make the OE experience simpler and easier. In addition, when Kiwis return with new skills and experience, Keenan says he can help them secure work in their home market.

The company also helps migrants find work in New Zealand. It has hotlinks to visa and tax information, as well as advice on writing CVs.
