Quality Systems, an Auckland-based developer of business intelligence software, has signed an agreement to embed software components by US business analysis software maker Knosys into its systems.
Idaho-based Knosys’ ProClarity product line provides front-end analysis technology specifically for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 users.
Quality Systems, which has 16 staff and specialises in developing software for the manufacturing sector, will embed ProClarity components into its entire product line, providing OLAP analysis capability to sales, financial and planning applications.
It will also resell Knosys products. Knosys, which doesn't as yet have customers in New Zealand, is used by AT&T, Compaq, GE Capital, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi Metals, L'Oreal, Nabisco, Nordstrom and Time.
Quality Systems product manager Peter McCallum says with Knosys the company is looking forward to “substantial market growth” in the manufacturing area.
Its customers, most of whom are in Australia and North America, include Carter Holt Harvey, Cerebos, Effem Foods/Masterfoods, Lion Nathan, Quaker Oats, Sunbeam, Tetleys, Unilever and Wilson & Horton.
The company's latest product, Contract Analyser, is a specialised data warehouse and OLAP-based analysis application for the US pharmaceutical industry. It enables pharmaceutical companies to obtain timely information on contracts, customers, products and regions and to be able to drill down to individual transactions.
