Computerworld publisher IDG Communications has won a temporary injunction stopping an Auckland businessman recently banned from trading in New South Wales from using the Computerworld name.

Michael Knight (also known as Michael Helsby-Knight) began offering used PCs for sale under the Computerworld name last month. Knight sent out flyers and went on radio advertising a "corporate computer sellout" of refurbished computers supplied by "Computerworld".

IDG was not involved in the scheme and had not consented to the use of the Computerworld name.

Last week IDG was granted an injunction against Knight stopping him from using the Computerworld name until the date for a final injunction hearing is set.
