I am a national IS support manager based in Auckland, working for a multinational with turnover of $350 million with diverse markets and systems. Our platform base includes 350 PCs and 25 servers (Novell and NT) from Whangarei to Invercargill, email, intranet, VPN. We have 450 users using Melbourne-based RS 6000 and AS/400 systems for major applications. My qualifications include CNA, CCNA, A+ and I am learning MCSE. I am responsible for all hardware and software support through outsourcing partners, plus all strategic and business direction projects for New Zealand in consultation with Melbourne head office. I have held this post for two years, reporting to the GM of finance and administration. My major recent projects include the integration of the Auckland head office, with offices in Wellington and Christchurch, following the purchase of another equal-size company.
