Alcatel is to supply the key connection equipment for BCL's broadband wireless network.
The network, which has been tested in Taranaki and Southland, is to go live at the end of October and will be offered on a wholesale basis to carriers and content providers.
Alcatel ethernet switches and antennas, SDH nodes and PDH radio will be deployed, allowing BCL's network to connect with its wholesale customers.
Earlier this year BCL selected Airspan as its supplier of fixed wireless access points. The equipment is being distributed around the country with a view to deployment.
The Alcatel gear arrives this month.
BCL also recently announced that Iconz and Ihug have joined Telecom as providers who intend to use the network.
