Office solutions vendor Onesource is moving into the desktop market, signing a supply agreement with Australian system manufacturer Ipex and offering managed services from the network to the desktop.

Ipex-manufactured servers, desktops and notebooks will be sold under the Onesource brand, chief executive Elaine Ford says. A new business unit, Onesource Managed Services, will support customers’ office environments, including desktops, networks and Microsoft software.

Ford says the company will tailor solutions for each customer, targeting a range of organisations from small businesses to government departments. She claims Onesource is the first company to be able to offer all office hardware, software and services in New Zealand. “It’s very much tried and proven in Australia.”

Onesource was formed in 2002 from the merger of Cogent Communications and U-Bix. It employs over 500 staff in 13 New Zealand offices.

Mark down Onesource as a company that eats its own dogfood. The first customer of its new outsourced services offering will be Onesource Managed Services.
