Notes developer seeks contract

I am a Lotus Notes/Domino developer for a medium-sized Notes developer in Wellington.

Dear What am I worth,

I am a Lotus Notes/Domino developer for a medium-sized Notes developer in Wellington.

My technical background is developing native Notes and Internet/intranet applications using HTML, JavaScript and Java, and with DB2/SQL.

I have five years' Notes development experience with all versions from 4.0 to 5.0.4. My qualifications are BSc honours in IT and French equivalent DEST and Lotus certified principal application developer in R4 and R5.

I also speak fluent French and good Swedish.

A permanent or six to 12-month contract would suit but I would prefer not to work directly for financial institutions.

James

Candle IT&T Recruitment replies: In a permanent role, if you are in a client facing situation, you could expect to earn in the $60,000 to $65,000 range or above.

On the other hand, if you are in a senior A/P role, as a developer with little client contact, you could expect $55,000 to $60,000.

The hourly rate you could expect in a contract role seems to be very broad and could be anything from $65 an hour to $95, for a short-term contract of up to four months.

A six to 12-month contract would probably earn at the lower end of that range.
