Former Solomon Software distributor Data Group has become a reseller of the midrange accounting software after striking a deal with Microsoft.

Former Solomon Software distributor Data Group has become a reseller of the midrange accounting software after striking a deal with Microsoft.

Microsoft became the owner of Solomon, which is now incorporated into its business solutions division, when it bought Great Plains Software.

Auckland-based Data Group managing director Rollo Gillespie says the company’s reduced status – it earns a smaller margin than as distributor – has been compensated for by way of a “consideration” that’s positive to both parties.
