Dear What am I Worth
I have been in New Zealand for the past four years. I have 15 years of experience in the IT industry.
I was a Unix administrator but for four years I have worked with Microsoft products. My present work entails network security (firewall) and administration, setting up NT Servers, Web administration, advising the IT manager on new technology, a certain degree of Unix administration, software upgrades and troubleshooting.
In short, I am the point of contact for any IT work in our company of about 100 users. Though I am not a MSCE or MCP, I am well versed in NT and Microsoft networking. I am seriously thinking of doing a MSCE/MCP and further my career.
IT @ Manpower replies: Now you have lots of practical skills and experience I recommend you invest in the Microsoft certification to put the icing on the cake. And don't lose those Unix skills - they're much in demand. You should be earning $55,000 to $65,000 if your people skills are as good as your technical skills.
