IDGNet has been named Website of the year in the Magazine Publishers Association Awards.

The judges in the Website category, : Dave Clark and Marcus Hawkins of Brave New World, said that of the sites they assessed, IDGNet "was the most suited to the internet environment, and was the one that 'got' the philosophy of producing information for the Internet. The amount of information available on the site was the most comprehensive."

IDG Communications' print publications also fared well at Friday night's awards. IDG's Unlimited was named magazine of the year in the business and professional category, Unlimited editor Vincent Heeringa was named Editor of the Year and Megan Colquoun and Natalie Winter were judged Magazine Designers of the year in the same category. The MPA does not name an overall winner across categories.

The judges said Unlimited was "breathing life back into business publishing and that as "a clear winner in a very competitive category the magazine performed to the highest level against all criteria." They praised Heeringa's "innovative approach" as editor, which they said made Unlimited "more personally relevant than most other business magazines".
