Six application service providers have signed up to host Microsoft software through its ASP programme.
The ASPs which cover a range of industries, from retail to vertical health markets; are e-solutions, Always There, Greenwood Technologies, Nubizz, Datacom, Unisys and GDC Communications.
Always There was formed by Eftpos New Zealand to rent retail systems integrated with eftpos payment processing. It delivers point-of-sale, stock control and retail back office systems and will shortly include accounting packages, payroll and customer relationship management applications.
Auckland company Nubizz, was founded by venture capital company zzinc.com and delivers e-commerce, messaging, financial and health industry solutions.
Auckland-based GDC Communications will work with independent Microsoft developers to offer integrated voice applications.
Auckland company Greenwood Technology is also partnering with software developers and resellers to provide ASP services to their clients. Greenwood provides the data centre, leaving the independent software vendor or value added reseller to concentrate on customer-focused solutions.
e-solutions which was one of 12 ASPs in the world to pilot the Microsoft platform is aiming at enterprises with 20 plus employees who need to move quickly but are short on time and IT staff.
