Carter Holt Harvey Forests is going the whole hog on a major SAP rollout that’s due for completion early next year.
The implementation involves extending CHH Forests’ use of SAP from financials only to the complete R/3 version 4.6. R/3, SAP’s core suite, includes features from its ERP arsenal such as financials, human resources, order management and procurement.
The application will be hosted by CHH offshoot Oxygen in Auckland. “We’re implementing the full suite, the full noise,” says Oxygen spokesman Stuart Dickinson.
Oxygen is now in hiring mode. The company advertised recently for 34 new positions, which would bring its head count in New Zealand and Australia to about 300. They are a response to “new opportunities developed by through the sales pipeline that we’re looking to resource”, and a desire to relieve the workload of Oxygen’s consulting arm.
Existing Oxygen customers outside Carter Holt Harvey include Cadbury Schweppes, TVNZ and Whitcoulls.
Dickinson says the new positions will be evenly spread across Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne.
