Dear What Am I Worth, I am a systems administrator in the Bay of Plenty. My key functions include internal system specialist, data security, administration, user training, contribution to development (but not programming), report design/generation, change control, data testing and help-desk support. This for more than 200 users.

I have also been an advisory systems engineer specialising in pre-sales/support/training in office automation/imaging (four years), computer services management (four years), project management (18 months), plus IT administration roles, all based in Auckland.

De Winter International replies. You can expect $40,000 to $50,000, depending on location; in Auckland the range might be $55,000 to $65,000, but expect to spend more on living costs. The real difference could be quite small.
