Telecommunications company Telstra Saturn and software company Jade are joining forces to compete with the likes of Unisys and esolutions in providing e-commerce solutions online.
Initially Christchurch-based Jade will develop systems to be used by Telstra Saturn in-house and then it will provide ASP (application service provider) applications and other e-commerce services for the telco to offer to its customers. One project the companies are already working on is the introduction of electronic invoicing between companies.
Jade head Gil Simpson says the partners are not going to rush out to market but he expects something to be available in the first half of next year.
Jade’s ASP unit Jade Direct, which provides simple business applications written in Jade to small businesses such as pharmacies, will develop the solutions.
