Qualifications in Business Computing
- CBC, DipBC and NDBC
The first year is the Certificate in Business Computing (CBC). The second year is the Diploma in Business Computing (DipBC). The third year is the National Diploma in Business Computing (NDBC).
Duration: 1 year.
- New Zealand Diploma in Business
It provides a qualification for students aspiring to middle management positions in a variety of disciplines as well as providing entry into higher professional qualifications. To gain the New Zealand Diploma in Business, students must complete six compulsory and six optional courses, four of which must be at the 200 level. Courses include Organisation and Management and Business Communication.
Entry requirements: usually Sixth Form Certificate
- NZIM Diploma in Management and NZIM Advanced Diploma in Management
Courses for the Diploma include organisation and management and applied management.
Courses for the Advanced Diploma include employment relations and information management. Courses cannot be duplicated in both the Diploma and the Advanced Diploma. The Advanced Diploma must consist of six further courses.
- Bachelor of Information Technology
Duration: 3 years.
Entry Requirements: The programme is open to school leavers with minimum of 3 C passes in Bursary, or mature students with an appropriate tertiary qualification. DipBC and NDBC graduates may apply for entry to Year 3 of BInfoTech when this is running at Whitireia. DipBC graduates will be required to complete a translation programme before entry to Year 3 is confirmed. NDBC graduates may be given direct entry to Year 3. Year 3 students complete a project and four other courses.
