Telecom has announced that it will be launching its entry-level 128Kbit/s ADSL service JetStart next month – following Xtra's accidental publication of information about it on its website on Tuesday.
The Telecom component of the service will be $29.95 per month. The company says the "monthly flat rate traffic charge from the customer's ISP" has yet to be determined, but the Xtra website quoted a flat monthly rate of $29.95, which will almost certainly become the benchmark.
Like the high speed JetStream service, JetStart will enable customers to use the internet and talk on the telephone simultaneously.
Customers connecting to JetStart will be charged a one off connection and installation fee of $178. Customers will also need to purchase an ADSL modem.
Telecom says JetStart is expected to be available through "a number of ISPs" at the time of launch
