GIS expert

I have helped implement GIS systems, migrate systems and applications from Unix to NT, and from ArcInfo 7 technology to ArcInfo 8.

Dear What Am I Worth,

I have 14 years of experience in GIS, principally with ESRI products (ArcInfo, ArcView, Map Objects, IMS). I specialise in customising software, linking GIS software to other software, 3D GIS, GIS in mining and in local government, technical documentation, training, marketing and project management. I have helped implement GIS systems, migrate systems and applications from Unix to NT, and from ArcInfo 7 technology to ArcInfo 8.

I am an expert programmer in AML and Avenue, good in HTML and JavaScript, passable in Visual Basic. I have managed as many as 10 GIS analysts and programmers at a time, and a GIS consulting group for six years. For the past two years I have been working for myself. I am seeking consulting work, especially in GIS software development and related activities, in Auckland or Wellington.

Protocol Personnel Services replies: You appear to have a lot of experience in your specialist field. Depending on whether the role is hands-on technical or more management/project management the salary may vary. I would expect that you would earn $110,000+, but that depends on the role.
