Quest Software, with its package for migrating Oracle databases to Linux, is among a variety of third-party vendors launching offerings at the OracleWorld conference in San Francisco this week.
Quest will announce SharePlex data replication software for Oracle on the Linux platform. The product is intended to make it easier to migrate existing Oracle databases to Linux. Quest also plans to announce that Quest Vista Plus Suite will leverage J2EE facilities of Oracle Application Server 10g to boost delivery of fixed content to the Oracle Application Server Portal 10g, according to Quest. Vista Plus Suite is an enterprise information management system for access to business-critical fixed content. It archives and delivers electronic documents, reports, and printouts to customer-facing portals via a Web interface, Quest said.
Quest also will announce that its JProbe Java performance tuning toolkit will support Oracle Application Server 10g.
GoldenGate also is boosting Linux on Oracle's software. GoldenGate will announce that its GoldenGate 7 data synchronization platform supports data synchronization for Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) on Linux. GoldenGate plans later this year to support its platform and Oracle RAC on IBM 's AIX Unix OS.
Also at the conference:
* XIOtech, maker of storage networking technology, is announcing availability of Magnitude RAC Pack for Oracle9i RAC implementations.
Magnitude RAC Pack is a preconfigured bundle for the deployment of Oracle9i RAC, including servers, database, and storage infrastructure, according to XIOtech. Utilizing the dynamic provisioning of the Magnitude storage family with Oracle9i RAC has been proven to reduce database deployment time and simplify ongoing management while delivering scalability, XIOtech said.
* Oracle applications hoster SofTrek is launching Appitat, for providing customized IT outsourcing and applications using Oracle9i Application Server technology. Appitat provides an environment for building 9i AS applications and features an application hosting facility.
* Jacada plans to announce an agreement with Oracle to boost integration of legacy applications with Oracle applications and infrastructure software.
Jacada's Integrator will provide this integration for customers of Oracle Application Server 9i and the upcoming 10g release of the application server, Jacada said. Also, Oracle's consulting and pre-sales organisations can use Jacada Integrator to help Oracle customers build and deploy legacy integration solutions.
A JCA resource adapter will enable Jacada to run seamlessly within the Oracle10g Application Server environment, according to Jacada.
