Energy Dept. CIO joins OMB

President George W Bush nominated Karen Evans to succeed Mark Forman as associate administrator for IT and e-government at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Forman left the OMB after two years in August 2003 to join an IT start-up. Evans currently serves as the US Department of Energy's chief information officer.

Before joining the Department of Energy, Evans was director of the information resources management division at the Justice Department's Office of Justice Programs and was deputy director for the applications management division at the Agriculture Department.
