Insurance company Vero is to move to Oracle 11i financials run from its parent company, the Australian-owned Promina Group, within the next year.

Vero, formerly Royal and Sun Alliance, is one of about 25 Promina subsidiaries in New Zealand and Australia. At present each subsidiary runs its own financials system, Vero CIO Rob Flannagan says. They will be replaced by Oracle 11i financials and run from one location in Australia "within the next 12 months".

Vero runs Oracle financials from New Zealand and they will be consolidated into the Australian system, Flannagan says.

"IT infrastructure is run as a central function across the Promina companies."

No job losses will result from the financials consolidation, he says.
