HP is yet to announce a permanent replacement for former New Zealand managing director Russell Hewitt, who took up a job at Vodafone Australia at the start of the month.

“There’s a process under way for the selection and appointment of the new MD,” says spokesman Ken Erskine.

Erskine confirms that Simon Tong, acting MD since Hewitt left, is a candidate for the MD’s position.

Tong previously headed HP’s services division and led the company’s bid for Fonterra’s outsourcing contract.
